Of all the wonderful views at Ashridge, Alan believes his room has the finest. Alan is 95 and came to Ashridge initially for respite care following pacemaker surgery. He was delighted with the care he received while he was recovering and he became instantly smitten with the view. So much so, he decided to stay.
That was over a year ago. His room at Ashridge is spacious and bright. It looks out over the gardens and neighbouring fields towards the sea.
Sheila has lived at Ashridge Court for over two years, she originally came to the home for two weeks respite but she liked it so much, she decided to stay!
Sheila trained at St Thomas’s hospital in Paddington before going to Scotland to train in midwifery. Later, she joined P&O as a nursing sister on board cruise ships for six years, and travelled all over the world, spending time in the Far East as well as two years in Australia.
…and her favourite dish from the chef is the mushroom stroganoff!
