We are delighted to announce that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has assessed Ashridge Court Care Centre as ‘Good’ following a short unannounced inspection on 11 January. The inspectors focussed on two key areas, safe and well-led, and we received a Good rating in those two areas, unchanged since the last inspection in December 2018.
During the recent visit CQC inspectors spoke with residents and staff. “Throughout the inspection, we saw kind and thoughtful interactions between staff and people. Staff were happy in their work and this impacted positively on people”, they said.
They also referred to the ‘calm and happy workplace culture’ with a ‘comfortable, clean and well maintained’ environment.
The residents they spoke with commented on the level of care at the home, saying “I love my views, it’s a good place to live,” “I am safe, I appreciate the staff, they are very good,” and “They look after me well here”.
Staff who were interviewed provided positive feedback about the management style, saying they felt well supported by the management team and, in at least one case, that the home was like their family.
Home manager Gail Watkins says: “This is a huge boost for our staff who have worked extremely hard to support the residents during the difficulties arising from the coronavirus pandemic, and we would like to thank them all for their fantastic dedication and excellent teamwork.
“Going forward, we are determined to build on our achievements and will strive continuously to attain the rating of ‘Outstanding’.”
