About this role

At Canford Healthcare we specialise in providing quality residential care for the elderly across our group of care homes.

A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Activities to become part of our team at Barty House Nursing Home.

This position is a permanent role for 32 hours every week, working on a rota basis between Monday and Sunday.

Activities are vital to the health and wellbeing of our residents.  You will lead the activities team and organise a varied programme of meaningful activities inside the home as well as trips out to places of interest.

You will report into the Home Manager and keep them informed about planned activities and requirements for equipment, arrange for outside singers, musicians, art and craft specialists and friendly animals to come safely into the home, record activities on care plans and hold regular meetings with residents and their families to plan events and gain feedback.

You will need to be flexible to meet the needs of our residents, have previous experience of working with elderly people, be able to encourage and motivate others and build positive relationships with residents, their families and colleagues.
